Religion and ethics

NSW schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics. Approved providers deliver these, where available.

Write to the school if you wish to withdraw your child from special religious education, sometimes known as scripture. Special education in ethics is an option for your primary-age child if you withdraw them from special religious education. For more information, visit Religion and ethics.

At James Fallon High School, SRE is delivered on Tuesday.

On enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to a child’s enrolment in SRE should be given to the Head Teacher Seconary Studies, in writing.

The Christian SRE curriculum is authorised by Australian Christain Churches. The curriculum is based on Good News about Jesus Christ and learning the key elements of our Christian life and culture and can be found at https://thinkfaith.com.au/. Christian SRE engages students in conversations as they question life, explore values and discover faith.

During the time that SRE classes are being held, SRE students will be located in a separate space whilst students not attending will remain in their classrooms and will participate in meaningful activities that could include reading, private study or completing homework.
