Dear Parents and Caregivers,

We are pleased to announce the return of face-to-face schooling and are excited to be welcoming students back into the classroom. School will return to normal on the 13th September with ALL Students expected to attend school every day.

If your child feeling anxious about returning to school. Please reassure your child that COVID safe procedures are in place and encourage them to discuss their concerns with their Year Advisor or Deputy. You can access information or you or your child about the COVID safety procedures for Level Three Schools on https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families/level-3-schools.

As per the NSW State Government requirements students are also required to attend school with a mask, in addition to this we ask that all parents/carers ensure that their student has full school uniform. If this is a problem, you are encouraged to contact the school to enable us to support you and your student.

If your child can not attend due to an ongoing medical condition, please inform the school utilising the Compass App or by calling on (02) 60 251 688 or emailing jamesfallo-h.school@det.nsw.edu.au

The Department of Education guidelines regarding attendance are clear and are outlined below:

Attendance

·         All students across NSW will return to full face to face teaching on September 13, 2021.

·         All students should be at school unless:

1.      They have a medical certificate which states they are unable to return to school due to an ongoing medical condition

2.      They are currently unwell

·         Students who have a medical certificate to stay at home will be supported to learn from home in line with regular procedures if they are able to. If you require work to be provided to your child whilst they are at home due to an underlying health condition (which is supported by a medical certificate) you should contact the school for assistance.

·         If your child is unwell, do not send them to school.

IF you student does not attended school as per the state requirements and you fail to provide the school with a reasonable explanation of their absences you will be asked to attend an Attendance Meeting in Term 4 that will allow us to discuss ways to improve the attendance and engagement of your child at school.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff, students and families of JFHS and acknowledge the extraordinary efforts many have taken to engage and support the entire school community. Throughout these trying times our school motto ‘Together We Succeed’ has been reflected by the entire school community.
