On Wednesday night, Grace Alexander and Daniel Phillips completed the final stage of the local Lions Club Youth of the Year Program to a full audience of family, friends, peers, and club members.
They were tasked with responding to two impromptu questions in front of a packed crowd and delivering a five minute speech on a topic of their choosing.
Grace completed her speech on the importance of Arts Education while Daniel spoke about a success mindset.
Both students spoke with poise, passion, conviction, and wisdom beyond their years, representing themselves, their families, their school and their community with dignity and pride.
Grace walked away from the evening with two of the honours awarded, the Interview Winner and the Club Winner, which is a remarkable achievement.
Both Grace and Daniel, as well as the other students involved in the program from Murray and Xavier High School, should be immensely proud of themselves! It was an honour to be in attendance for the evening.
